The powers of the Diocesan Commission for Liturgy and Sacred Music are as follows:

1. Ensure the harmonization of the liturgy in the Diocese;

2. Think about the liturgical formation of the Christian people and liturgical pastoral care adapted to the culture and to the times;

3. Collect all the liturgical chants in vogue in our Parishes with a view to censoring some non-liturgical and approving others;

4. Help composers and artists through moral and technical support and through training sessions;

5. Think about the production of audio cassettes and CDs of liturgical songs;

6. Make available to the Christian public everything that has been produced in the field of the liturgy;

7. Help Christians understand the nature of the liturgy and its importance in the life of the church and even in their personal life;

8. To help each actor in the liturgy to know what he is allowed to do or say in the liturgy and to do it or say it in accordance with the official rules of the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church;

9. Help Christians to understand the liturgy of the sacraments;
10. Ensure the development of places of worship in accordance with the liturgical standards promulgated by the hierarchy of the Catholic Church;
11. Intervene in any development, transformation, decoration of a place of worship assigned to Catholics;
12. Intervene at the project stage as well as during the development of the construction project of a new cultural building (church, chapel);
13. To be consulted for any modification which would occur during implementation;
14. Promote the training of the faithful and the clergy in the field of sacred art;
15. Enter into dialogue with all the institutional actors to help protect the heritage, with the local communities to make them discover their places of worship, with contemporary creation so that it generates works expressing the eternity of God and the fidelity to the tradition of the church;
16. Make available to priests and the faithful the means of formation for the planning, maintenance, restoration of buildings, and the conservation of works of art;
17. Promote and possibly federate activities concerning the four sectors of liturgical music and their leaders: Song leaders, Choir directors, Organists, and Parish orchestra leader;
18. Keep in touch with the local pastoral officials and the management bodies of the Diocese.
